 Hunting Thank you for your interest in hunting with us here at Black
Mountain Ranch. We are located 6 1/2 miles northeast of McCoy, CO,
in southern Routt County, approximately 50 miles south of Steamboat
Springs. The ranch is situated on 1,000 private acres and is
bordered by Forest Service and BLM lands in the heart of the
Colorado Rockies.
Colorado boasts the largest elk population of any state and Black
Mountain Ranc h is located in the middle of the
largest elk herd in Colorado (White River herd).
We are fortunate to have exclusive access to our hunting area.
This reduces hunting pressure and provides a refuge for elk and deer
from surrounding public lands. We also have access to a parcel of
BLM land that offers some of the finest mule deer hunting in
Colorado, where several trophy mulies have been taken.
We are committed to provide you with the best in accommodations,
food and hospitality in addition to a memorable hunting
