HORSEBACK RIDING: Great riding, good ranch horses, and the glory of moving herds of cattle are the reasons most guests come to Bonanza Creek. There's no head-to-tail, we let you ride to your ability, and we do lots of it. Riding is our main activity with morning and afternoon rides as well as all day rides. We match horse and rider. Horses are available for the beginner, the very experienced and those in between. WORKING CATTLE: On this family operated ranch, we run 1500 head of cows on 25,000 acres, so that means lots of work. It may be moving cattle from pasture to pasture, bringing the bulls home, checking for sick or injured ones, or moving the cattle to better grass and water. We invite you to come and enjoy the experience. FISHING: If fishing is your passion, enjoy the beauty and privacy of our own stocked pondstest your skill against feisty rainbow, cutthroat, or brook trout. A little basic equipment is provided, but if you are a serious fisherman, by all means, bring your own. A Montana fishing license is required for fishing on and off ranch property. Fishing licenses are $10 for two days, $45 for the season. RODEO: There is a Rodeo on July 4 in Harlowtown, and a Labor Day rodeo in White Sulphur Springs. Both are great fun, small town rodeos with good stock plus western dances. The ranch would be happy to take anyone who would like to go entrance fees are between $5 & $10. SPECIALIZED RIDING: Available for persons with special cognitive and/or physical needs. Please phone for more information. TEAM PENNING: An arena sport for all riders. It's great fun and will test your skills. RIDING LESSONS: Available at no charge on Monday. WAGON RIDE: Pulled by Pete and Bob, giant, gentle horses. A great way to view the landscape and wildlife. BUFFALO/NATIVE AMERICAN SITES: An off site trip--drive amongst buffalo and see a Native American ceremonial site. See prehistoric pictographs on the all day ride. SOCIAL HOUR: The ranch is BYOB but there is a social hour at the lodge each evening before dinner. We offer great riding, herding cattle, hiking, private lake fishing, wildlife watching, team penning, a breakfast ride adn cookout, all day rides, a wagon ride with a team of horses and last but not least, peace and quiet and loads of fun. Photo-ops in this land provide, in every sense, lasting images. |
