GENERAL
INFORMATION
Mail reaches the ranch six days a week, as well
as Federal Express and UPS services. Phone service is not available
in the cabins, but there are telephones in two booths near the
office for guest use at any time. Fax facilities are located
in nearby Dubois.
There is a clinic and
ambulance service, and excellent hospitals in Riverton and Jackson,
both about an hour and a half away. The
ranch has a resident babysitter, who will also do guest laundry
for a nominal fee. A ranch car goes in to Dubois each day except
Sunday, to do ranch and guest errands.
TRANSPORTATION
The
ranch is six miles south of the town of Dubois, and midway betweenthe
airports at Riverton and Jackson Hole, which are served by airlines
from Denver and Salt Lake City. Guests can be met at either
airport, with a drive of about an hour and a half to the ranch.
There is a charge for airport pickups, and rental cars are available
at either airport.
For private planes there is a paved airstrip
a mile long just three miles outside of Dubois. It is lit at
night, and has a telephone but no other services.
WHAT TO BRING
Life is simple on the ranch, and it is not necessary
to bring a lot of clothes, or purchase expensive equipment.
You will need comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities.
Bring jeans, slacks and shorts, long and short- sleeved shirts,
bathing suit, sneakers, sweaters, a fairly warm jacket, and
a light raincoat, just in case. Cowboy boots and hats are highly
recommended for riding, and can be purchased locally. A flashlight
and an alarm clock would also come in handy. |
