ACTIVITIES
Hiking: Hiking
enthusiasts can step out of a cabin and take off in all directions.
Rifle Mountain Park offers a beautiful canyon trail along Rifle Creek
where you may catch a glimpse of rock climbers, or you may want to
take the Riparian Zone trail down to Rifle Falls.
Fishing: For
those who think nothing can quite replace the sport of fishing, we
keep our spring-fed lake, in front of the Lodge, well stocked with
rainbow and cutthroat trout. There's also a swimming/fishing raft
in the middle of the lake. Good stream fishing for rainbow and brook
trout can be found in nearby Rifle Creek. Bring your own gear or use
ours (no guarantee on condition however!).
Activities:
There are many other ways to enjoy the daytime hours, such as a brisk
swim in Coulter Lake or a game of horseshoes or volleyball. The scenery
and wildlife here are a photographers delight. Off ranch there's an
outstanding, scenic 18-hole Golf course nearby, or you might enjoy
whitewater rafting through beautiful Glenwood Canyon on the Colorado
River. Some guests enjoy a swim, "soak' or massage at the world-famous
Hot Springs Pool and Spa in Glenwood Springs while others raft Or,
you can sit back, relax, read a good book - or just do nothing. While
we try to offer plenty of activities, there is absolutely no strict
schedule. You can do just as much or as little as you wish.
Come
nighttime, you'll enjoy gathering in the Lodge to play cards
or various games, join a sing a long, watch a movie, perhaps sit around
a campfire, or just talk over the days happenings
and visit with others. We usually have western dancing each week and
find that both beginners and more experienced guests join in with
enthusiasms! Karaoke night is a favorite of most.
Note: If you're looking for quieter times,
consider off-season when our activities may be curtailed and we have fewer guests. |
