For folks with a hearty sense of adventure, there is no finer vacation than a classic wilderness horse pack trip! Our Guided Pack Trip allows you to enjoy riding, exploring, fishing or just relaxing while our guides prepare wonderful meals, tend camp and wrangle horses for you, deep in the heart of the Wind Rivers. With your goals & abilities in mind, we'll tailor the itinerary to suit your family or group. We furnish everything except your sleeping bag, fishing gear and personals. Youth Pack Trip - $1,495 - June 25 - July 4

This uniquely western experience is for boys and girls ages 10-16 who want to learn wilderness skills including camping, horsemanship, riflery, axemanship, orienteering/map reading, mountain safety, equipment preparation, hiking and survival. A pack trip deeper into the Wind River Range will allow boys and girls to apply these newly learned skills. LONG RIDER PACK TRIP
7 days - $1,495

Will begin at our Diamond 4 Ranch and travel into the Popo Agie Wilderness. One cannot ask to see more incredible high mountain scenery. You will truly experience what the early explorers felt as they discovered passes and mountain valleys no white man had ever seen. It will end at our Diamond Four Ranch and riders will have enjoyed an average 65 trail miles with at least one rest day along the way.

The average group size is usually around 6 plus 2 guides. The camping arrangement is often 2 people per tent, sharing a packhorse to carry their gear and food. Often, two tent groups comprise a cook group but this varies with the needs of each group.

You will be doing your own cooking, cleaning, tent pitching, saddling, packing and other tasks since this is a participation trip. The guides will always be with you to lend a helpful hand, give tips and lead the party.

Semi-Guided Pack Trips - July through September

Enjoy your next mountain vacation and Ride instead of backpacking into the Winds! Let us horse pack your party to an alpine lake - drop you off and return later to pack you out. We furnish wranglers and horses - you supply food & camping gear. Save money by packing lightly; 140 lbs./pack horse max. We send 1 wrangler for every 4 horses. You're only charged for 2 days of horse use: packing IN and packing OUT.

Reservations by early spring highly recommended.
Prices per horse per day for saddle, pack and wrangle horses
$165 per horse, per day on the trail
Approximate round trip price is $850/rider or $330/hiker
based on 70 lbs. gear/person and 140 lbs/pack horse max.
