a 12,000 acre working cattle and guest
ranch located southwest of Billings, Montana, at the
foot of the Beartooth Mountains. Homesteaded in 1901 by
Malcolm S. Mackay, the ranch is now managed by fourth
generation family members. As guests of the Mackay
family, visitors enjoy an authentic ranch experience,
Montana's big skies, and a vacation in the relaxing
solitude of the Lazy E-L.
Riding, moving cattle, roping, wrangling, shipping,
and fencing - all are part of life at the Lazy E-L.
Because at the Lazy E-L you will find real people
working a real livestock operation in a spectacular,
unspoiled setting. You'll stay in historic cabins and
we'll provide your horse, tack, and meals. Experienced
Western and Eastern style riders will feel right at
home. However, if you are new to riding or a little
rusty in the saddle, our crew will help you master basic
riding skills and horsemanship. Kids can also become
accomplished cowboys and cowgirls under the care of our
guest wrangler.
