Snowshoeing The number of our guests who either already snowshoe or would like to try it has grown dramatically over the past couple of years. In response to our guests, we have created three marked, self-guiding snowshoe trails from the Ranch. We also have plenty of quality snowshoes for rent and a trail map to get you started. Snowshoeing is very popular with guests who prefer to amble along a trail without the exhilaration of sliding. It is a perfect way of enjoying nature without wondering how you are going to get to the bottom of the next hill! We have some very dedicated snowshoers on our staff who really enjoy getting folks started on this quiet sport. Sleigh Ride Dinner One night each week we transport our ranch guests via horse drawn sleigh to our remote North Fork cabin for a very special dinner cooked on an old fashioned wood-fired cook stove and great entertainment by Walkin' Jim Stoltz and Bruce Anfinson Prime Rib dinner is served family style in a room illuminated by kerosene lanterns. Guitar music and song rounds out an evening reminiscent of times long ago. The other six nights are available to people not staying on the Ranch. The cost to people not staying on the Ranch is $69 per person. Because of the popularity of the sleigh ride dinner you are encouraged to book reservations well in advance. Call 406-995-2783 for reservations. Wildlife Viewing Winter is a stressful time for wildlife in snow country. Food is in limited supply; Temperatures plummet requiring body fat to be consumed to produce heat. Animals congregate around thermal areas and other areas with minimal snow.
Our Yellowstone tours give guests wonderful opportunities to see and photograph large herds of elk and bison. Bald eagles, ducks, geese, trumpeter swans and otters are often seen on Park tours. |
