Runamuk is for those who want a true ranch experience. We are a 5th generation(since 1880) working cattle ranch raising commercial cattle and horses year round on 18,000 acres of private land consisting of pine tree forests, open meadows and sandstone rimrocks. Here you can experience genuine ranch life by riding horses and moving cattle in some of Montana’s beautiful country. Although our main focus is riding, we also offer an array of activities off the back of a horse to accommodate each group or family member. We offer great food, horseback riding, cattle work, stage coach rides, four wheeling, massage, yoga, hiking, a place to host your western wedding, beautiful scenery and a sanctuary to relax. And don't forget to check out our annual spring roundup and branding and our Labor Day wagon train where we move our cattle to fall pastures. Come join us May through June while we calve. This will include daily riding while new calves are born daily.

We do not require a minimum stay and you can arrive and depart on any day of the week. We book on a  first come, first served basis as we take a limited number of guests per week. Guests enjoy our genuine hospitality and the flexibility to devise their own schedule.

We are located 50 minutes north of Billings, Montana.

"Toby and Jody Dahl can do it all.  They know how to entertain the oldest to the youngest person who visits their ranch.  I am 38 years old and I came with my dad who is 75 years old.  We were both catered to and got to do exactly what our hearts desired, we felt as comfortable at the ranch as if we were at home.  I wanted to get as much horse back riding in as I could and I did just that.  There is so much beautiful scenery, it was just overwhelming.  If we were too sore from horse back riding we rode 4-wheelers.  We ate and ate and ate very delicious food; we went on an old fashioned wagon ride with Duncan, who is a great asset to the ranch; we watched belgium horses being shod; we separated cattle on horseback, and as a bonus we saw some amazing lightening storms. The vacation was exactly what we had dreamed of and we would love to come back again. This small comment doesn't do justice to how much fun we both had."    Rhonda Davidson & Ken Lowry, Newport, OR.

Imagine sitting under the stars with absolute peace, trail riding to an outdoor cookout, sitting around a campfire with music and friends, hiking with the essence of pine through timbered trails, viewing an elk herd as you sit on the back of a horse, engaging in yoga from atop rimrock with picturesque views, relaxing to a massage. You can do all of this here at Runamuk.

We hope to see you here with us in 2006!
