Riding: Of course
you can spend the entire week riding both morning and afternoon,
enjoying the company of a good horse and extraordinary scenery.
You’ll appreciate our wranglers and the thorough instruction
provided. Beginners will be made to feel comfortable on the
most gentle of horses, while intermediate and advanced riders
will be matched with a horse that will perfectly complement
their abilities.

Various
rides leave the ranch twice daily. You'll have the choice
of destination rides aimed at especially beautiful spots,
or instruction rides to sharpen your riding skills, leisurely
rides or more advanced rides. You can ride in groups or
with your family; half day or all-day. The all-day rides
take you deep into the wilderness, often climbing above
timberline. An overnight pack trip is available too.
There is also opportunity to work in the arena, doing team-penning
or practicing for the Ranch Rodeo.

Whatever you choose, our riding program is one of the best
and we know you will have a wonderful time in the saddle.
Fishing:
Fishermen will be in trout heaven at the ranch. Whether a
died-in-the-wool fly fisherman or a first-timer, you will
find fishing to suit you. The famed Tarryall River runs
right through our front yard, and there are miles to fish.
Not far upstream is the Tarryall Reservoir and a variety
of fishing. Also, not too far down the road is the very
well known "11 Mile Canyon" where the only thing better than
the fishing is the scenery! You can spend half an hour or
all day. Fishing gear is available to guests.

River
Rafting: Each week we offer several choices
of rafting depending on how much excitement you want. All
our trips are on the Arkansas River which is home to some
of the best whitewater rafting in the state. You can raft
through Brown’s Canyon or through the Royal Gorge (home
to the world’s highest suspension bridge) which could
well be the thrill of a lifetime. We use a certified guide
service and the extra cost runs between $30 and $85 per person.

On the Ranch: We have a heated outdoor pool and hot tub as well as a historic
recreation hall. Our western jungle gym will thrill children
and we also have a horseshoe pit for a game of Horseshoes,
a makeshift volleyball court, gold panning and our popular
Petting Zoo. And don’t forget the amazing hiking all
around the ranch.

Evenings:
First you get settled in and orientated on Sunday evening.
After that, every evening will have an activity planned
to round out your fun filled days. Evening plans range from
cookouts and hay rides to western dancing and square dance.
You can also relax on your porch, or by the fire as we listen
to a western singer. And don’t forget that special
night when parents enjoy a fancy dinner in the lodge while
the children have a hotdog roast and hayride, and the teens
have pizza by the pool. Saturday evening is always a wonderful
night of singing and entertainment at the sing-along. Each
evening will be a perfect end to your day at the ranch.

Meals:
Long after leaving the ranch you will be talking about the
food. It is a source of pride to the crew in the kitchen.
No shortcuts and nothing instant. Rather we do our own baking
and make most everything from scratch. You can count on plenty
of fresh fruit and vegetables to go along with wonderful steaks,
chicken, turkey, fish and pastas. And we have cookouts virtually
every day.
