Many phone and mail inquiries ask, "What is there at the ranch for children to do?" In some ways we find this question difficult to answer. We're not exactly sure what  makes children so happy at Waunita. We suspect that they enjoy the unstructured freedom of the ranch and its surroundings-the time to be just kids! Besides our planned program of riding, vehicle trips, hayride, fishing, arena games, cookouts, raft trip,  campout. square dancing and music, there's time to... throw the frisbee, romp with the dogs, pet the goats, throw rocks in the creek, kick the football, chase frogs, sneak a warm cookie from the kitchen, play a game of Uno, splash in the pool, explore the hillside, gather eggs, joke with the wranglers, collect rocks, fish in Ute Lake, pitch horseshoes with Dad, etc.,  etc... And yet there's staff available to "keep an eye" on children or take them to some planned activity while you enjoy another part of the program.
